Variable aperture enhances creative control for photographers
The A20 Pro chip, produced through a 2-nanometer process, integrates a six-core CPU with a seven-core GPU. Apple states that the GPU delivers up to 40% faster performance compared to the A19 Pro. The chip also features a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, totaling 32 cores dedicated to AI processing. Its thermal design now places the processor closer to a larger vapor chamber, enabling the system to sustain up to 40% higher performance than previous generations.
Battery capacity has been increased, especially on models that operate solely with eSIM. Apple reports that the iPhone 18 Pro can support up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can reach 45 hours under the same conditions. The Pro model can attain 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes with compatible wired accessories. eSIM-only variants will be available in markets including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, along with several other countries outside the region.
iOS 27 introduces Siri AI features to the new Pro series
The iPhone 18 Pro series runs on iOS 27 and supports the latest Apple Intelligence features. Siri AI enters beta on September 14 for supported devices set to English. Apple plans to expand support to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in October. The virtual assistant can utilize data from messages, emails, and photos when users seek assistance.
